Music Together® Classes- by TipToe Music

Music Together® Mixed Ages Classes For children ages birth through 5 years old

The mixed aged class is the essential Music Together class by TipToe Music.  It gives children from birth to age 5 the environment they need to grow and develop while interacting both socially and musically with other children of varying ages. Child development researchers have found that grouping together children of varying ages fosters natural, family-style learning. Children—even babies!—are inspired and stimulated through interaction with peers of different ages: younger children watch and imitate older ones, older children lead younger ones, and adults are happy because their children are in class together. Your baby will engage at their own level, vocalizing, moving, listening, observing, and exploring musical instruments. And any or all of your child's caregivers—parents, grandparents, nannies—can come share in the experience, both in class and at home. The whole family is welcome!

Weekly, 45-minute classes include songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play. These activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences and are designed to appeal to a range learning styles. Our Mixed age classes make it easy for you to attend with multiple children. Classes are developmentally appropriate for your little ones and enjoyable for parents and caregivers - regardless of their own musical ability. A CD, a songbook, access to the Music Together online Family Music Zone™ and a parent/child guide are included in the cost of tuition!

Music Together® Classes by TipToe Music

Music Together® for babies ages 8 months and younger

Babies love music. This will come as no surprise to you if you’ve ever soothed your newborn to sleep with a lullaby or bounced him to the beat of your favorite song. But did you know your son or daughter is also a natural music-maker? It’s true: We are each born equipped to respond to music from a remarkably early age. There is a lot you can do to nurture your new little musician—even if you don’t think of yourself as a “musical” person. Making music together from the very beginning will lead to a lifetime of shared musical enjoyment for both you and your child.

TipToe Music's Babies-Only Class will start you on the path to becoming a musical family. Specifically designed for infants eight months and younger, this one-semester introduction to Music Together allows babies to embrace, enjoy, and express their inborn musicality. In your weekly class, you will spend forty-five music-filled minutes singing, dancing, and playing with your child, all in the company of other new parents and guided by an early childhood music specialist. You’ll learn how your child is developing musically and how you can support this growth at home. Plus, you’ll leave with lots of ideas on how to play and bond musically together and infuse music into your baby’s everyday life.

Emerging Mothers Postnatal Mom & Baby Group

Emerging Mothers is a group for moms with others moms facilitated by a mom and counsellor. It’s no secret that the postpartum period is a time of huge adjustment when mothers often question themselves and worry. Doing this alone or in isolation can be overwhelming and unrewarding.

Joining other moms and talking about the challenges, joys, and concerns of motherhood is one of the best ways of understanding this transition, receiving support, providing support, taking care of yourself and your needs, and reconnecting with others, yourself, and those around you. Every week, we will discuss a topic that is specifically relevant to this transition, such as sleep, identify shifts, relationship changes, reconnecting or reframing our needs, body image, and recognizing important emotional processes, such as shame, guilt, fear, and anxiety. Each class, you will be invited to share, to connect, to provide support, empathy and understanding, and most importantly, to understand yourself and grow through connecting with others’ experiences. Each class will also involve a reflection exercise to connect with the week’s topic in order to build on your strengths and gain new insight.

Come and meet with other moms and counsellors, Jennifer Lynn Walker and Jane Scurfield to share your experiences and grow from connecting with others. Each series lasts six weeks.
